Carlos Rymer focuses his work on climate change policy and renewable energy development in the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean.  Rymer is currently a lead member of working groups focusing on climate change policy, renewable energy development, and community and social development in Latin America and the Carribbean. He earned his B.S. in Science of Natural and Environmental Systems from Cornell University with a concentration in Sustainable Development and an M.P.A. in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University.

In previous years, Rymer has led campus sustainability and climate change efforts in helping make Cornell University a leader in sustainability. Rymer has also led efforts to advance climate change policy and renewable energy development in New Jersey and the Dominican Republic In 2007, Rymer co-led a campaign called the New Jersey Climate March that resulted in the passage of the Global Warming Response Act, ground-breaking legislation that binds New Jersey to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions 80% below 2006 levels by 2050. Rymer’s key areas of expertise within sustainable development are policy, renewable energy, new economics, and sustainable business.
